Victoria has recorded 322 new coronavirus cases and a record 19 deaths. But daily case numbers continue to fall.

Victoria’s COVID-19 Numbers for Aug. 10

* 322 new cases, the lowest daily number since July 29
* 19 new deaths, bringing the state’s toll to 228 and the national figure to 313
* Latest deaths are one man in his 50s, one woman in her 60s, two men in their 70s, one man and six women in their 80s, and one man and seven women in their 90s
* 14 of the latest deaths are linked to aged care
* 14,957 total confirmed Victorian cases, 7869 remain active
* 500 active cases in regional Victoria
* 640 people in hospital, with 48 in intensive care and 31 on ventilators
* 1065 active cases among healthcare workers, 1756 in aged care
* 2863 “mystery” cases, an increase of 105
* Nearly 1,821,000 tests, an increase of 19,213
* Stage four restrictions for metropolitan Melbourne and stage three protocols for regional Victoria to remain until September 13.
