Victorians have woken to more freedom this morning after COVID-19 restrictions were eased but many are unhappy the hospitality and retail industries have been left out. From Monday, Melburnians will be allowed to travel 25km from home and there will be no limit on time spent outdoors. Outdoor gatherings will also increase from five people to 10 from two households, while facilities such as skate parks, golf courses and tennis courts will reopen. WASHINGTON, Wash.鈥擱estrictions on non-essential travel between Canada and the United States are being extended until at least Nov. 21.
Public Safety Minister Bill Blair confirmed the news today on Twitter.
Incidental travel鈥攙acations, day trips and cross-border shopping excursions鈥攈as been forbidden since March in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19.
The restrictions do not apply to those providing essential services in either country, including trade shipments and cross-border workers.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said the restrictions won鈥檛 be lifted until there鈥檚 clear evidence the pandemic is easing in the United States.
