Amber Alert Issued for 13-Year-Old Girl, Police Also Looking for Male Who May Have Kidnapped Her

Authorities on Oct. 7 issued an Amber Alert for a missing Texas girl, Betsabe Perez. The 13-year-old girl may have been abducted by Erik Diaz-Tapia, authorities said in the alert. Congressional Democrats have reasons for not holding an official impeachment vote against President Donald Trump despite calls from the GOP to go on record.

Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.) told Fox News on Oct. 7 that an official vote isn’t required, adding that the facts of the case need to be revealed.

“As some of the other colleagues said, there is no requirement that it happen,” she said. “I’ve been somebody who all summer had a lot of people, Tom Styer bought 40 ads—Moveon.org—and I’m just very concerned … about how divided this country is.”

Dingell, the widow of former Rep. John Dingell—the longest-serving U.S. congressman in history—added that the House has to focus on facts.

“No one is above the law. So let’s keep getting what the facts are. Let’s keep getting the knowledge out, making as public as we can as much of it. Some of it is classified … we also have national security that we are protecting,” she added.

In September, House Democrats said that they are pushing an impeachment inquiry as to whether President Trump abused his office by asking Ukraine’s president to investigate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter. The president has denied any wrongdoing, and the White House released a transcript of Trump’s phone call with his counterpart.

When pressed as to whether House Democrats are afraid of not reaching the vote on impeachment, she suggested that it’s not clear.

“I think we may, down the road,” she told Fox. “I have not been there for ten days. But I also think that what we’ve seen right now is … we have three branches of government, equal branches of government that have oversight responsibilities.”

Dingell then reiterated that more evidence is needed.

“I don’t want to put kerosene on fires that are already out there. Let’s get the facts,” she said.

Elaborating on her personal stance, the two-term congresswoman said she hasn’t said Democrats need to impeach Trump.

“I’m looking for what the facts are right now and I think a lot of other people are saying ‘okay, let’s get the facts, let’s see where those facts lead us, where do we need to go?’ I think these next… few weeks are going to be tracking what the facts are,” she said.
