WEST PALM BEACH — A 34-year-old Lake Park man is facing a first-degree murder charge after his arrest Wednesday night in connection to a January fatal shooting outside a West Palm Beach condominium.
Rigoberto Duval also faces a charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm after police alleged that he and another person were involved in the Jan. 9 death of a 34-year-old man at the Presidential Golfview condominiums off Congress Avenue north of Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard.
West Palm Beach police did not disclose the name of the man who died, citing a 2018 state constitutional amendment that allows either crime victims or their families to withhold their names from public reports.

Investigators say Duval and the other person sat in an SUV until about 12:30 a.m. as they waited for the other man to arrive. As he rode in on a bicycle, the vehicle pulled out of a parking space and Duval and his accomplice exited and began shooting, the arrest report said. Then they got back in the vehicle and sped away.
The arrest report did not disclose the name of Duval’s suspected accomplice or say whether that person will face any criminal charges.
The arrest report did not indicate a motive for the shooting.
During a hearing Thursday morning at the Palm Beach County Jail, Circuit Judge Kirk Volker appointed Duval a public defender and ordered that he be held without bail on the murder charge.

According to the arrest report, Duval and his accomplice drove to a nearby townhome complex after the shooting, where video-surveillance cameras photographed them. They were seen walking around the complex for about 30 minutes.

While briefly out of view of the cameras, Duval and the accomplice removed some of their clothing but did not change their pants or shoes, police said.
They reportedly were seen on camera walking to the the front of the complex to watch police investigate the murder scene.
