FDA Sends Warnings to 3 Companies for Selling Fraudulent COVID-19 Products

FDA Sends Warnings to 3 Companies for Selling Fraudulent COVID-19 Products

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sent warnings to three companies on Tuesday for claiming that products will prevent, treat, mitigate, diagnose, or cure the new COVID-19 disease.

COVID-19 is caused by the CCP (Communist Chinese Party) virus, commonly known as the novel coronavirus.

One company, Halosense Inc., sells salt therapy products that it claims are safe and/or effective for the treatment or prevention of the new disease, according to the FDA.

“Currently, there’s no vaccine to prevent you from getting the coronavirus infection. … A very underestimated treatment that can help protect yourself is salt therapy,” the company stated on its website.

Another business, Bioactive C60/FullerLifeC60 LLC, is accused of marketing a product that it claims can build up immunity to help treat or prevent COVID-19 in people.

“Both the flu and coronavirus illness thrive on individuals with weakened immune systems … Coronavirus is scary, but the flu is deadlier and more widespread. Those who get very ill or die have weakened immune systems. Have the highest probability of staying healthy by making your immune system the strongest possible. FullerLifeC60 does this for just a dollar a day (plus shipping),” the company states on its website.

The FDA also warned JRB Enterprise Group Inc., which is selling colloidal silver products with the claims they are safe and/or effective for treating or preventing COVID-19.

“Colloidal Silver in a nebulizer, the type that is commonly prescribed by medical professionals for asthmatics and those with chronic lung problems, as a medium to deliver colloidal silver to the lungs, provides a real prevention regimen for a number of maladies—including the coronavirus known as COVID19,” the company stated on its website.

The companies were told to immediately correct the violations cited in letters from the FDA as well as review their websites, product labels, and other material to make sure they’re not representing products in a misleading way. Failure to do so could result in legal action, the agency warned.

The FDA has warned nine other companies since the pandemic broke out. The agency has said there is no approved treatment or cure for COVID-19.

Many patients who contract the new illness do recover through rest, supportive care, and symptom treatment.

Experts recommend frequently washing hands, avoiding sick people and crowds, and wearing a mask and gloves when going out as ways to avoid becoming sick with COVID-19. The disease can cause severe illness and even death in some patients, especially the elderly and those with underlying health conditions.

Sick people are asked to stay home and contact health authorities or their doctor.
