A recent report backs up this view, showing the majority of MPs believe that “unhealthy partisanship” has become more prevalent in Parliament, with democratic practices declining, particularly in the areas of MP independence and debates. Ja’Net DuBois, who appeared on “Good Times” and other TV shows, has died at age 74, according to her daughter, Kesha Fields.
The actress died in her sleep on Monday at her home in Glendale, California, Fields told CNN.
“If you got a chance to know her and lived through the words of her song or just watched her contagious laughing spirit, every time she walked through the door on the set of ‘Good Times,’ that was her. She was effortlessly portraying a character because that was her spirit,” Fields said.
BernNadette Stanis, who played Thelma Evans Anderson on “Good Times,” told Fox News that she learned of her death from her daughter, saying DuBois seemed to be in good health when she saw her two weeks ago.
Police in Glendale told The Associated Press they received a report about her death late on Monday, saying she appeared to have died of natural causes.
After “Good Times,” she won two Emmy Awards for her voice work on the series “The PJs.” She also appeared in the films “Diary of a Mad Housewife,” “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka,” and “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.”
Janet Jackson, who was one of DuBois’s co-stars on “Good Times,” paid tribute to the actress.
“I saw first hand how she broke stereotypes and changed the landscape for Black women in entertainment,” Jackson wrote. “I’m grateful in recent years I had a chance to see her and create more lasting memories. I pray for comfort for all her family and friends. Thank you Ja’Net, I’ll miss you.”
