JERUSALEM鈥擜n Israeli police spokesman has said that聽China’s ambassador to Israel was found dead in his聽Tel Aviv home on Sunday.

Police have launched an investigation into his death, the spokesman said.

Magen David Adom paramedics told Israeli media that聽Du was found dead lying in his bed. He appeared to have died in his sleep of natural causes.

Police did not immediately comment on the cause of death of ambassador Du Wei, who was 57 years old and became ambassador to Israel in February, according to the embassy’s website.

Before that, Du served as聽China鈥檚 ambassador to Ukraine.

He leaves behind a wife and son.

Trump: US Considering Giving WHO No More Than China Does

The United States could restore some funding to the World Health Organization under a plan that would cap contributions at whatever amount China gives, President Donald Trump said Saturday. Trump responded to a social media post that included a story claiming the Trump administration is close to restoring partial funding for the organization, also known as the WHO.
